The longest stop

WARNING LABEL: This blog post may not be for you. If you are not a member of the Knickerbocker/Weber family, this post may bore you to tears. I don't blame you if you check your FaceBook postings instead of moving forward with this crap.

Weber and I are currently on the longest stop of our trip. It is because we are in New Jersey at Weber's brother's house with Wayne and Eileen.

Clark is tucked away in a corner of their driveway. He received a complete exterior cleaning Saturday morning, and appears presentable once again.

We arrived Friday and have remained busy since, visiting family members. In fact, Saturday involved two parties. The first was for our great nephew's (Chase) second birthday. This was at the home of our niece Stephanie and her husband Eddie. Also, it is where our great niece Emma resides.

We had the opportunity to see everyone. Colleen, the pregnant niece was there with her hubby Chip and, at my request, turned sideways, so I could get the picture of the baby bump, although she doesn't have a big one for a woman six months along.

Our nephew Nick was there with his wife Kristin and Brooke, their 19-month old little girl (all admit that little is the correct adjective for this sweet, small, lovely girl).

Nick's mom Linda, Weber's sister, was there and the girls had a bonding moment.

After heading back to Wayne's, we headed to a second party with Wayne and Eileen and Colleen and Chip. This was a Harvest Moon Party at the home of Eileen's cousin Donna. Unfortunately, the clouds did not cooperate with the intended purpose of this party. Donna lives out on a piece of very nice farm property. At least we got to pet a horse as we walked out to a clear area to view the hidden moon as it came up. Aside from Mother Nature screwing with the plan, the party was quite nice--good food and friendly folks to speak with.

Oh, and did I mention it was chilly?

Sunday involved a trip to Colleen and Chip's house in Delran. The plan was to watch some football after working for an hour or so on their bathroom upgrade. As it turned out, the work session became several hours, as the electrical that I could normally handle was well above my pay grade and, rather than blow up their house, I finally said, "Get an electrician." At least, we had a great cheesesteak dinner as a break in the work session. Unfortunately, I had my camera and a tripod to get a family selfie while there, but forgot about it until it was time to leave and we men were dirty and sweaty.

Monday was a relaxing day. Weber and Eileen went shopping for necessities (apparently shoes are a necessity) after the three of us took a nice morning walk. Wayne worked and when he got home, we headed to Nick and Kristin's for pizza dinner and to see the latest additions to Nick's "beach" backyard and the greenhouse he built to house his palm trees during the winter.

We spent the evening in his backyard bar. It is a complete (not like a basement counter top with a few bottles and a fridge with a case of beer) bar with two big screen tvs (he had baseball on one and football on the other), a u-shaped, tiled bar with probably 15 bar stools, four or five beer fridges with taps for draughts and thousands of dollars worth of booze bottles. We had the kids with us to play with. (This bar had no rules limiting the age of attendants.)

Today's plan includes a trip to Grounds for Sculpture. Eileen touts it as a wonderful place at the old fairgrounds to walk, view the sculptures placed on the 52 acres and have a nice lunch. Wayne is working, so we are without the "Glue." We have a plan to visit Kenny and Linda later this week. More to follow sometime this week.
