Sometimes You Just Get Lucky
........I guess. About a month ago, I blogged about Spills and Thrills. I had my surgery two weeks ago and turns out I had not torn my rotator cuff (that's the lucky part). What I did manage though was an extremely inflamed bursa sac, shredded ligaments and a little calcification on my tendon. After removing the bursa sac, cleaning up the shredded ligaments and scraping off the calcification, the doctor sent me on my way. I had my arm in a sling and stayed home from work for a week. I now have physical therapy twice a week (Thanks, Dave!!) and get to do my stretching exercises twice a day.
There is a lot of tossing and turning at night trying to find a comfortable position that is not painful. Plus fighting Rich for my little huggy pillow that I'm sleeping with....he quite often thinks that pillow is more comfortable to sleep on then his own pillow. Getting back to 100% seems like a slow process, but I guess I was pretty lucky.

I'm sorry you're still so uncomfortable. I remember it took Moira a good while to start feeling better after her knee surgery, too.
Weber, bursa sacs and shredded ligaments and calcified tendons were so much sexier when told over bottomless beers! Hope you are feeling better...just drink through it. Didn't you say the beer made you feel more comfortable?
It takes awhile for these things to heal. I'm so glad it is taken care of. One week at home...what a dream!
